About Me

You can find out plenty about me by digging through my blog archives but I thought I'd give a mini-overview for anyone new here! In no particular order...

I'm in my 30s and live in Surrey with my husband Chris and our baby Leo.

Leo's first holiday, France 2016

I'm half American and have a huge family over in the US who I try to visit every year.

All the family at our second wedding in Dayton, Ohio
a couple of months after we tied the knot in London

I was born and raised in London then moved away for a few years to study at Newcastle Uni before returning to London to live and work.

I'm not working right now as I'm busy taking care of little Leo but I used to work in graduate recruitment in the City.

Working at Deloitte, 2009

I'm obsessed with travel. I've had two gap years and also taken time off between jobs whenever possible to travel the world. My favourite and most visited countries are Thailand, America, Greece and Italy. I've also spent a lot of time in south and central America. Over the years Chris and I have been lucky to go on incredible trips together to exotic places like Bali, Brazil, Mexico, Mauritius... we even got engaged in Morocco!

Saying "yes" in the Atlas Mountains!

I'm a bit of a foodie. I did a cookery course at Leith's straight after uni and have been very happy in the kitchen ever since. I love to cook and eat and am on an ongoing quest to make this a healthy passion rather than an indulgent one :)

Studying at Leith's School of Food & Wine in 2004

I love music and a good party, especially festivals!

In March 2015 cancer took my wonderful Daddy away. Life has not been the same since and my whole family is still struggling to come to terms with this tragic loss.

Father of the bride on our happy day in 2013

In spring of 2015 Chris and I bought our first home and moved away from London to start a new life in Surrey as we eagerly awaited the arrival of our baby boy.

Move in day!

Our son Leo was born very premature in Oct 2015 - at just 27 weeks - as I had preeclampsia. His birth weight was less than 2 pounds and he ended up needing to stay in hospital for 3 long and stressful months. I made a short video about Leo's time in hospital which explains what happened better than words ever could.

At the hospital during Leo's long hospital stay, winter 2015

Leo was finally well-enough to come home on Christmas Eve 2015!

BEST DAY EVER!!!

  1. Hi Celia- this is so inspiring! I wish you all the luck to turn your dreams into a reality! I especially liked the story about your mum and the bowl she gave you. I hope you will be determined to get to the 'done' stage and i have no doubt you will reach that stage! Good luck and i'm looking forward to read about your journey to dare, determine and do!
